A-Nah Village..

Updated: Feb 14, 2019

Here are some timeline photos of the progress (or lack there of) for A-Nah Village inside Bahia Principe in Akumal, Tulum.

This is the story of A-Nah Village. If you were a member of RETA, in 2015, you saw the monthly articles and stories about the Riviera Maya part of Mexico, which includes Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Akumal. Ronan McMahan writes the Real Estate Trend Alert (RETA) for International Living. Ronan's email rmcmahon@pangaearealestate.net

Great article on Ronan https://www.internationalappraiser.com/2017/11/five-years-later-reassessment-of-real.html

The first A-Nah project was A-Nah Tulum, which is actually in Akumal inside Bahia Principe. You could get a Townhome for $215k. This project sold out quickly to RETA members, but was plagued with delays and poor construction. In October 2015, you could still buy in A-Nah Tulum, the condos were $153k and Townhouses were $250k. Then Ronan started selling A-Nah Village. In November 2015, the first building sold at A-Nah Village was Hummingbird with condos starting at $146,600 and them selling out in 5 days to RETA members. Two months later they started selling in A-nah Village with the Tucan building and starting from $164,300. In March of 2016 they started selling the Townhomes for $229k for a two bedroom and $249k for a three bedroom.

As of February 2019 nothing has been delivered in A-Nah Village. The Townhomes have not even been started three (3) years later. Tucan and Hummingbird look the same as they did eighteen (18) months ago (See other blog post on this website.)

RETA coordinated a few Fly and Buy Vacations to A-Nah Village January 14 –17 & February 11–14 of 2016. People bought we started paying and they started sending us monthly newsletters about the progress. I can only image how excited everyone was about this project.

The pictures below were taken in October 2016, this was about a year after some of us had purchased. Even though very little was done, we were excited to see some work going on. A-Nah told us the Reception and Club House would be the first build and it was great seeing it going up.

The pictures below were taken in January 2017, for some of us this was one year before the units should start being delivered. Looking back now very little was done in the past three months, but we were all still very excited to see some progress being made.

The pictures below were taken in February 2017. They finally started the Club House and it was great seeing it going up.

The pictures below were taken in March 2017, not sure why we were satisfied with such little progress, guess we kept believing their stories.

The pictures below were taken in April 2017, for some of us this was one year before the units should start being delivered. Looking back now very little was done in the past three months, but we were all still very excited to see some progress being made.

There was communication with A-Nah in May and they said they were on Schedule for December 2017 Delivery. Weather is fine and no Act of God is keeping them form working. The pictures below were taken in May 2017 and we are beginning to think they will not be able to finish this year.

The pictures below were taken in June 2017 and to see the Pool Area come together and the A-Nah Village sign in the Reception area some how gave us hope.

During July of 2017, A-Nah sent a letter that they would be using the 90 day grace period and the delivery date now is March 2018, but no reason was given as to why they were delayed. The pictures below were taken in August 2017 and we believed them when they said they could complete 7 months.

A-Nah stop sending the monthly updates with pictures. The pictures below were taken in September 2017.

The pictures below were taken in October 2017. Five months until new delivery and nothing has been done to the Hummingbird building since April, six months ago.

During March of 2018, A-Nah sent a letter saying they are yet again going to be delayed, now delayed past March of 2018, but they are not in Breach because of Strong Ground Slopes, Bad Weather and Labor Shortage, but last year weather was not an issue so everyone knows this is BS.

The three pictures below were taken in April 2018. The original delivery date was December 31, 2017, after the extension the new delivery date was March 2018. This is a few weeks after the extension and was should have taken 10 weeks has taken 10 months.

The three pictures below were taken in September 2018. The have given excuse after excuse and now the new delivery date is December 2018. Exactly one year delayed. And still nothing done on Hummingbird since April.

You might be thinking that some of these pictures are taken at the same time, but I have date/time stamps on all the photos. The pictures below were taken in January 2019. Very little has been done in over a year.
